Sowing for a Better Future – Malieveld 19 april 2104

On April 19th we participated again in the ‘Blijf weg van het Malieveld‘ happening, an ongoing experimental exhibition/workspace between 11 and 12 at the Malieveld in Den Haag. Other participating artist were: Topp&Dubio, Kees Koomen, Ellen Rodenberg and Leontine Lieffering.

Today we continued with our project ‘Sowing for a Better Future’.
We planted radishes, carrots, marigolds, sunflowers and red peppers along the borders of the field.
We’re curious to what will happen!

Haagse Lift 2014

On March 4th 2014 the award ceremony of te ‘Haagse Lift‘, an annual Dutch prize for sustainanble and innovative projects took place at theatre ‘de Appel’ in The Hague. Our Paperboat project was nominated as one of the last 10 participants this year to make an elevator pitch movie in the ‘Haagse Toren’.

The movies of the nominated projects were presented during the Haagse Communicatiedag from which a professional jury selected 3 projects. Together with BLOOMILY and iTwyc our Paperboat project was one of the last 3. The audience could then vote for their favourite project, and we came in second!

Coincidentally theatre ‘de Appel’ was presenting the play ‘Cassanova’ at the time, and because the play is set in a watery scenery, the whole stage was replaced by a large pool.
The ideal environment to demonstrate our Paperboat!

Nominatie Haagse Lift

Our Paperboat project is nominated for the ‘Haagse Lift’ Competition, an annual Dutch prize for sustainable and innovative projects. The 10 nominees were requested to do a real elevator pitch in the 42 storeys high landmark, the ‘Haagse Toren’. During this one minute journey to the top of the building we had to present our project while the presentation was being recorded on film for the jury. The winner will be announced at the Haagse communicatiedag 2014 in theatre ‘de Appel’ on March 4th 2014.

Here’s our elevator pitch:

Not Necessary

On December 14th we participated in the ‘Blijf weg van het Malieveld‘ happening, an ongoing experimental exhibition/workspace between 11 and 12 at the Malieveld in Den Haag. Other participating artist were: Topp&Dubio, Kees Koomen, Ellen Rodenberg and Aart Verheul.

This day we made a drawing of a cage with breadcrumbs amidst the shelter of the trees. Unfortunately, no birds came to feast on the bread. Maybe they understood the image…
